Poulton - one of many car parks on the Fylde Coast

Car Parks on the Fylde Coast

At the end of March 2017, there were 37.5 million vehicles registered for use on the road in Great Britain. So although public transport is very popular, it’s an odds on chance that you’re going to want to find car parks on the Fylde Coast!

There are plenty of car parks on the Fylde Coast, in Fleetwood, Cleveleys, Poulton, Blackpool, St Annes and Lytham.

Some are pay and display, others are pay on exit. Some are looked after by the local authority and others are privately managed. There’s also free on street parking in most of our town centres too.

Parking Apps

One really useful thing to come out of the Covid 19 pandemic is the use of parking apps. Their use became more widespread as a way of reducing contact between people and machines. Now, with a parking app, you don’t need to visit the machine to pay for your parking.

Simply download the relevant app to your phone. The first time you use it you’ll have to enter your car details but the app remembers you next time.

Now you can pay for your parking from the comfort of your car. Don’t get wet and windswept and stand in a queue looking for the correct change! You even get an alert when your parking is due to expire.

  • Fylde Council (Lytham, Andsell, St Annes) uses the Mipermit app
  • Wyre Council (Cleveleys, Poulton, Fleetwood) uses RingGo

(What a shame they don’t all use the same one…!)

Christmas Parking Offers

Most local authorities do special offers on car parking at Christmas, as a way to tempt you into town.
