Brew at 2
We know that we kept thousands of people going through the long, hard months of the Covid pandemic. Hundreds of you joined us for Brew at 2, making a nice group of virtual friends!
It was so popular that it became a regular feature. A cuppa and a chat about all things Fylde Coast and life in general. Life got in the way though and it felt like Brew at 2 had run its course, before finishing in early 2024.

We’ve walked some distance together during lockdown! Up and down the beach and all around the Fylde Coast. We’ve been to visit venues and attractions, town centres and seafronts. Together, we’ve walked miles and miles and made hundreds of videos.

Live Blackpool
We all love Blackpool, so the Live Blackpool playlist is right at the top! We’ve covered a good chunk of this famous seaside town -from beaches to regeneration plans – and there’s still lots more to record. Enjoy the promenade, beach, attractions, town centre, parks and of course the amazing west coast sunsets. This playlist also includes:
- Blackpool Central this playlist documents the redevelopment of Central Car Park
- Talbot Gateway is a long term project to redevelop the area of Blackpool around the railway station and Talbot Road. Phase 1 is the Sainsbury’s and Bickerstaffe House buildings. Phase 2 is the new tramway terminus and Holiday Inn. And phase 3 will be the office block on land at the side of the Hop Inn. We’ve been documenting progress of this transformation.

Most weeks we’ll also do a live stream and broadcast from wherever we happen to be. It’s a great way to really feel like you’re really at the seaside. Walk along with us and see exactly what’s happening, right at that very moment!
Sadly, the quality of reproduction isn’t as good as a pre-recorded video, because of the limitations of YouTube and the internet connection. But the sense of really being there is great!

How Visit Fylde Coast on YouTube Began…
On 6 January 2020 we started a Fylde Coast Video Diary for you. This is that first video – my how far we’ve come in only a year! Sorting out the wind-noise on the microphone was a huge hurdle – but we managed it, in the end!
The weather improved and the Fylde Coast stretched and woke after winter. We’d barely got into our stride, then the country was closed down by coronavirus!
But we really got going with our videos during lockdown. Doing our bit to keep you connected to the coast while you can’t get here in person. In a bid to keep your spirits up, we pledged to deliver a daily broadcast, fresh from the seafront. It marked the beginning of new daily videos and an exciting new era for Visit Fylde Coast.
A video a day keeps the doctor away…
Visit Fylde Coast publisher Jane (me!) pledged to share a new video, filmed fresh each day, on social media for you to watch, wherever you are. And before anyone asks, no I wasn’t driving to the seafront. I used my daily exercise time to bring you views of the beach outside my house.
“I thought a daily video with a bit of local chit-chat might bring some pleasure to people who have to stay indoors while this is going on. The only problem is that the show is restricted to the area outside my door!
“I really don’t like the thought of people sitting inside all day with only the TV for company” she says. “Sadly I can’t pick the phone up and talk to everyone, but I can make the effort to try and bring a bit of sunshine into your life – literally!”
Sunshine and sea, waves and a walk on the beach were on the menu every day, sprinkled with anecdotes and interesting facts about the beach, wildlife and local history. The coastal breeze and sounds of the seaside went down really well. The rest is history!
