Weather Forecast for Blackpool Lancashire
You’ve checked out the weather webcams – here’s your weather forecast for Blackpool Lancashire and other Fylde Coast towns. They’re quite detailed and show you everything you need to know for todays weather and the weather forecast for a couple of days ahead.
Local Flood Alerts
Flood alerts help residents and businesses to know whether they need to be prepared during bad weather. Flooding can come from rivers and from the coast. The weather webcams on this page will help you to see what’s happening during storm conditions.
Tide Times
Check the tide times when you’re planning a day at the coast. Some Fylde Coast beaches are tidal so they will be covered when the sea is in. Others, like St Annes, remain dry even at high tide. Always check the tide times if you’re planning to go out walking on the beach. Make sure you don’t get cut off on any sandbanks as it’s coming in.

Weather Warnings
Most of us with a mobile phone also have a favourite weather app. It’s like having the Met Office in your pocket! But did you know that you can also sign up to receive alerts when extreme weather is predicted? The Met Office does actually offer a subscription service, where you can sign up to receive weather warnings.
- Check current Environment Agency Flood Warning Status
- Check the latest Met Office Weather Warnings
- See what the seaside looks like on the rare occasion that it’s covered with a blanket of snow.
WEATHER WARNINGS ALSO COME WITH SAFETY WARNINGS!
**KEEP AWAY** From the coastline and seashore when winds are strong and tides are high.
DO NOT underestimate the power of the sea – it regularly claims lives along the length of the Fylde Coast. Taking risks could mean that you’re next.
Be safe. It is perfectly possible to find a good viewing spot and take good photos with a zoom lens without having to put yourself at risk.
During extreme heat (yes, it does happen!) you also need to take care! Remember that you’ll catch a suntan much more quickly at the coast so wear sunscreen. And always keep yourself well hydrated. Here’s more heatwave health advice.
More Weather Data
There’s a surprising amount of weather measuring and monitoring equipment in use, both at sea and on land. Much of it is publicly accessible – if you want to take a look!
