Sounds of the Sea with Visit Fylde Coast

Sound of the Waves

Do you love the sound of the waves? It’s never the same two days running. One day the rippling waves gently lap against the shore. The next they could be pounding – sending spray and white water up into the air!

Sound of the Waves Playlist

We know that you love the sound of the waves as much as we do, so we’ve made this playlist for you on our Visit Fylde Coast YouTube channel.

There’s no music, no commentary, just the relaxing sounds of the sea.

Noise of the Sea for Relaxation

Waves sound is so relaxing – washing away your cares and tension as they wash away the sand.

Set the playlist off to relax you while you’re working from home.

The noise of the ocean is also a brilliant background for meditation and unwinding at the end of a long day. Close your eyes and concentrate on the waves crashing and tumbling through the pebbles.

While you listen to waves, seagulls and the tinkling noise of the sea on the pebbles, imagine sifting through the shingle, looking for seaglass. Waves always churn up the sand, making the water appear murky. But on days with gentle, lapping waves – especially if the wind blows offshore – the sea turns clear and crystal like.

And if you’re really lucky, on rare days in winter you might even get to see snow on the beach. All of the salt in the atmosphere tends to stop it from settling so much. But once in a while the beach gets carpeted in white…

It’s a great soundtrack for helping you to nod off at night too. Use our Sound of the Waves playlist with headphones as your go-to sounds for sleeping.

If you’re landlocked and can’t get to the coast, it’s a great background noise to listen to while you go about your tasks during the day – at home or at work. Enjoy!
