The Regent Antiques Auctions Cinema in Blackpool
Like old things? Finding unusual treasure? Love to repurpose something from the past? You need to visit The Regent!
If you like a stroll you could take a walk Eastwards along Church Street, heading away from the sea. You’ll see The Regent in front of you. If you prefer to drive there’s a handy pay & display car park opposite the door. The address of the car park is Cookson Street FY1 3DR, but access it via Caunce Street.
Browse the wide variety of stalls and see what you’ll find… Don’t forget to stop at the vintage tearoom on the first floor. Refresh yourself with a brew and sample a cheeky cake or two! The building itself is an old 1920’s cinema. The original cinema space has been fully restored and films are shown once again.

The Regent Blackpool – Antiques
The big white building with the shiny dome stands at the top of Church Street, Blackpool in Lancashire. Inside is a world of antiques, vintage, craft and retro goods, spanning three floors. With more than 50 amazing stalls, there’s something here for everyone. Ideal when you’re looking for things to do – especially on rainy days!
Browse through antiques from all era’s – whatever your thing you’ll find it here. From antique ornaments to wartime memorabilia, vintage china, jigsaws and clothing to records and furniture. Look at the walls, all covered in artwork and photo prints, and all available to buy.
Tea and Vintage Tearoom
Tea and Vintage serves a wide range of meals, seven days a week. Breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea with homemade cakes. What are you waiting for? The tearoom is open from Tuesday to Saturday between 10am and 2pm.
The Regent Blackpool – Auctions
Monthly general sale auctions began at The Regent in 2019. Watch and take part online, through the auction site Easylive.
Take a look at the lots on the website – and if you’re local or in Blackpool you can call in to view in the days leading up to the auction. Once the hammer falls you can have your lot posted/couriered to you, anywhere in the world (p&p extra). Or you can call in and collect at no extra cost.

Got something to sell? From a single item to a full house clearance – and if you’ve got a lot of goods to sell someone can come out to take a look/collect. Your goods could be auctioned on the last Thursday of each month between 11am and 3pm. Buy and sell your antiques and curios for just a 17.5% buyers or sellers premium and a minimum £2.50 sellers fee. Pay-outs are made within 7 days of the Auction.
The Regent Cinema in Blackpool
The doors of the Regent Cinema in Blackpool originally opened in 1921, with 1092 seats inside and a retractable roof! For decades it was a popular night out until the appeal of the silver screen tarnished in the late 1960s. By 1969 it was eyes down for bingo during the week. But that all changed in 2016. After some serious refurbishment and restoration, The Regent Cinema reopened the doors once again to the cinema going public.
For example, the old seats (below) were all saved and refurbished. From drab blue to plush red. Single and double seats now available, all with a table for those drinks and snacks. Visit their website and you can also see before and after photos on the Regent Cinema Facebook page.
National Theatre Live
In 2023, The Regent Cinema in Blackpool started broadcasting National Theatre Live. Now, the best of live British theatre comes to a cinema screen near you – look out for the logo.
Whether you prefer serious drama, romcoms or sold-out award-winning hits, this is unmissable theatre. It’s filmed live from Britain’s most exciting stages and broadcast to over 700 cinemas across the UK and many more around the globe. Plays are filmed in front of a live theatre audience, but optimised for the big screen. It’s the next best thing to being there.
The actors on stage deliver their performances as they normally would any other night. To make sure that cinema audiences have the best seat in the house, camera positions are tailored to capture each production. Technical teams make sure every element on stage such as lighting, hair and make-up look fantastic on the big screen.
2024 Upgrade to the Regent Cinema
Improvements and restoration at The Regent Cinema are never ending. It’s an old building which had got into a terrible state. In 2024, the next task was upgrading the sound system and projector. Unfortunately it meant the Cinema was closed for a few months.
While upgrading the speakers and projection systems, a small stage was added at the front. This will be ideal for comedians, presentations, guest speaker events and small amateur drama productions. All exciting stuff! And you can still hire the cinema for your special occasions. Just give them a call for details on 01253 290879.
Friday Nights on the Silver Screen – at The Regent Cinema!
Friday nights, films showing at 7.30pm. The Regent Cinema in Blackpool is an independent venue showing classic films across all ages. Revisit the glory days of a night at the pictures – when a cinema trip was a special treat. Make it a night out with a drink and a snack in the fully licensed diner. Lagers, glasses of wine and single spirits all at a very reasonable £2.50 each.
Ghost – Friday 25th Sept, doors open at 7pm
Come and join us at The Regent for an evening of heart felt entertainment on the big screen. Ghost is a 1990 American supernatural romance film directed by Jerry Zucker, written by Bruce Joel Rubin, and starring Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore, Whoopi Goldberg, and Tony Goldwyn. The film’s plot follows Sam Wheat (Swayze), a banker who is murdered and returns as a ghost, unable to interact with the living world.
Beetlejuice – Friday 2nd Oct, doors open at 7pm
The ghosts of Barbara and Adam, a married couple, continue to live in their home. When Barbara’s sister sells the house to new people, they do their best to drive them out.
The Lost Boys, Friday 9th Oct, doors open at 7pm

The Lost Boys is a 1987 American comedy horror film directed by Joel Schumacher and written by Jeffrey Boam, Janice Fischer, and James Jeremias. Based on a story by Fischer and Jeremias, it follows two teenage brothers who move with their divorced mother to the fictional California town of Santa Carla, which they discover is a haven for vampires.
The Addams Family – Friday 16th Oct, doors open at 7pm
Come and join us at The Regent for an evening of comedy and horror for our screening of The Addams Family
The rich Addams family lives in a nonconformist manner. But this wealthy eccentricity is threatened when the family lawyer and a mother-son duo plot to steal the riches of the family. A battle ensues.
The Others – Saturday 24th Oct, doors open at 7pm
The Others (2001) is a psychological and Gothic horror film written, directed and scored by Alejandro Amenábar, starring Nicole Kidman, Fionnula Flanagan, Christopher Eccleston, Elaine Cassidy, Eric Sykes, Alakina Mann and James Bentley. Set in 1945 in Jersey, it focuses on a woman and her two photosensitive children who experience supernatural phenomena in their manor after the arrival of new servants.
Hocus Pocus – Friday 30th Oct, doors open at 7pm
Hocus Pocus is a 1993 American fantasy comedy film, directed by Kenny Ortega from a screenplay by Mick Garris and Neil Cuthbert, and a story by David Kirschner and Garris. It follows a comically villainous trio of witches (Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy) who are inadvertently resurrected by a teenage boy (Omri Katz) in Salem, Massachusetts, on Halloween night.
Strictly Come Dancing Live From Blackpool – Sat 21 Nov, doors open at 7pm
