Isn’t there a to-do over the dreaded Covid 19 virus, with Leicester in lockdown now for two weeks. In my opinion, I’m surprised there aren’t more places in lockdown.

Am I missing something or is it just me that has common sense? Because I can’t understand all these people, who are so desperate to go out that they gather in huge crowds, and without any distancing.
If I went into those sort of crowds, I would be sure to get a big finger pointing at me from the sky saying ‘she’s there, get her’! I am so lucky, I manage to pick up any germs that are flying about. So I’ve stayed put for three months and am continuing to do so until I am sure I’m not at risk.

After the last lot of illness when I had pneumonia, I think my lot would have the screaming abdabs if they had to repeat it all again so soon and had to look after me again. I must say though, they were very good and didn’t grumble at all. But I think hubby was glad when I was back in action as I think his elastic had stretched far enough, if you get what I mean!
Going back to the crowds, it seems to me that an awful lot of people are acting as though there hasn’t been a virus. Especially after watching them round here, where the beaches and proms and car parks have been heaving with people. I, like everyone else, will be so glad when life returns to normal – but I don’t think that will be for a long time yet.
It is good news that the Vic hasn’t had reports of new deaths for a while, and we need to keep it that way. At the time of writing there’s been a total of 232 deaths at the Vic. Hopefully all these people meeting together all over the country won’t cause a surge, which is expected.
Leicester in Lockdown – who’s next?
Would you believe, Jane got an email the other day to see if the shows were on at the piers on July 14th. After she’d finished choking, she explained that all theatres are still closed. See what I mean? She gets asked the daftest questions, instead of just thinking about it and using a little bit of nous.
But with Leicester in lockdown, media speculation is now turning to where will be next. Let’s just hope it’s not the Fylde Coast!
Then there are half a million people suffering with cancer who daren’t leave their homes. Quite understandably, around 270,000 people are suffering from anxiety and panic attacks and in some cases, suicidal thoughts, which is so awful for them.
Lasting Effects
It seems that the virus has affected people in lots of ways. Anxiety, tiredness, sleep problems or pain are being reported as long term effects. Quite understandable in the circumstances I think.
I certainly haven’t been sitting here, during the last three months of being incarcerated, worrying my soul out because it is what it is. But I am lucky enough to have family with me. I can understand how easy it would be for someone living alone to get depressed, and all the rest of the things that being alone creates. It must be terrible for them.
It will be a good job when we can go outside again and not be afraid of catching the dreaded virus. Although with Leicester in lockdown and others looking like they will follow, I don’t think that will be for a long time yet. Luckily I am perfectly happy at home and it hasn’t bothered me one bit. I can find ways to occupy myself, but it won’t be too soon to see the back of this thing in my opinion!!

Her morning videos are proving to be very popular with people all over the country, which has surprised me somewhat. Although today of course, with the power of the internet, anything is possible.
Thanks to all you people out there who have subscribed to it. She’s now reached that magic number of over a 1,000! That’s the number required by Google to be able to show other people’s adverts, which earns her some money. One thing coronavirus has taught us is, you’ve to think outside the box when it comes to earning a living!
As she keeps saying, we have to eat like everyone else. She was ecstatic when she got the YouTube email to say that she could do the deed.
Hip hip hooray!
Of course, when she came to tell us at lunchtime, we all started cheering. I bet people thought we were training to watch a football match with the noise we were making. She’s been counting the numbers every day to see if she was there yet, so last Monday was D day.
Kevin made her a certificate to show she had done well, which tickled her pink. I wonder why we say pink and not sky blue or some other colour? But anyway, collecting my brain back from that. We were so pleased for her as she does work hard on the Visit sites.
