There’s plenty to see and do right here on the Fylde Coast, with lots to explore in the surrounding areas too.
Enjoy the bright lights and razzamataz of Blackpool, family friendly Cleveleys and Fleetwood, the refinement of Lytham and St Annes, or the rural landscape of Poulton-le-Fylde and beyond.
It’s an area well served by main roads and motorways with excellent public transport. What will you find?
Explore the Fylde Coast
We’ve put together this handy A-Z list of all the towns, villages and places in the area.
Each of the individual Visit Fylde Coast websites has an ‘Explore’ section too. Take a look around –
- At the most northerly end of the coast there’s not much to explore around Fleetwood, because it’s on a peninsula.
- Places to explore around Cleveleys include Skippool, Marsh Mill and Thornton
- Explore our Visit Poulton website including rural areas Over Wyre, including Knott End.
- Find the bright lights of Blackpool in the centre, with quieter places to explore in the outskirts. Like Marton Mere Nature Reserve.
- With Visit St Annes you can explore between Lytham and Blackpool, including Ansdell.
- And the most southerly area covered by Visit Fylde Coast is Visit Lytham. Explore this website for rural areas like Freckleton and Wrea Green.
Explore Beyond the Fylde Coast
It’s a really handy and accessible place for exploring further afield from. From the Fylde Coast you can visit all of the north west.
- For great walking routes follow the River Wyre and Lancaster Canal into the country.
- For quiet countryside head to the Forest of Bowland and the landmark Pendle Hill. Enjoy walking, cycling, fishing and horse riding.
- Follow the trail of the Pendle Witches, the Pendle Way and the Pennine Cycleway. Head to Bronte Country and the magical hamlet of Wycoller.
- Further afield is the world renowned Lake District and Yorkshire Dales. Why not stop off at Morecambe or Lancaster on your way north to the Lakes.
- If cities are your thing it’s not far to Manchester and just an hour to Liverpool and Chester. Preston is about 40 minutes away.
