Lancashire Day
Lancashire Day is held on 27 November to commemorate the day in 1295 when Lancashire first sent representatives to Parliament, to attend the Model Parliament of King Edward I.
Lancashire was known as “the workshop of the world.” This is because, at its peak, the county produced 85% of the world’s cotton textiles.
