Goodness gracious me, hasn’t it been hot! The July 2021 heatwave hits the Blackpool Area and we’re all melting!
The hot weather has been going on for easily a week, although it’s supposedly set to cool down from Saturday 24 July… Temperatures have consistently hovered around the 30 degrees mark, reaching MUCH higher than that in the sunshine.
If you’ve been to the Blackpool area during this week, you’ve had amazing weather!
Heatwave Hits the Blackpool Area
Visit Fylde Coast visited Blackpool seafront on Wednesday morning. Our visit was timed to be away by lunchtime and the hottest heat of the day. But it was still beyond scorching!

You’re loving this weather! And what a stroke of fortune that deckchairs are back in Blackpool this year. They arrived just in time for the heatwave!
Perfect Seafront Market Day
On our way home to Cleveleys we stopped off for a quick diversion to look at the new Cleveleys market.
A few weeks in it’s starting to get into its stride, with more stalls and and using the space where Kiddies Corner was. It’s well worth a look – why don’t you make a visit to Cleveleys on a Wednesday and take a look?
Keep Sun Safe
We don’t need to tell you, but here’s a reminder just in case!
Wear plenty of sunscreen – you’ll tan (or burn) much more quickly at the coast. Keep well hydrated and drink plenty of water. If the heat makes you feel weird, stay in and stay cool!
And don’t, whatever else you do, leave a dog in a car.
In fact, don’t walk them on hot pavements either. Unless, of course, you’d like to take your shoes off and join them on the tarmac?
Gorgeous in Fleetwood
We’ve made the most of the sunshine and made new videos for you practically every time we’ve gone out of the door!
Another delightful day saw us in Fleetwood, so we took a walk around the seafront and visited the beach to capture you some rays. And just notice how gorgeous and clear that sea is. Why go abroad when you can have all this here?
Cooling Down…
Heatwave weather is great if all you have to do is go to the beach! But if you’re working – in whatever way – it can make your life pretty miserable. Hopefully you’ve been able to enjoy some of the warmth, but if it’s not your thing, you know it won’t last.
By the end of July – Monday 26th ish – the weather is considerably cooler. Fingers crossed that August doesn’t turn into a complete washout!
