Blackpool BID and Blackpool Transport have been delivering treats to Blackpool heroes, thanks to Burtons biscuits.
Blackpool’s Business Improvement District (BID) teamed up with Blackpool Transport to provide a coordinated drop off and distribution to Care Homes across Blackpool.
Mike Simmons, otherwise known as entertainer Joey Blower, is a member of the Blackpool BID board. Mike explains “Burtons Biscuits kindly donated tins of biscuits following our recent appeal to support front line workers. With the kind assistance of Blackpool Transport (BTS) we’ve started to distribute them to care homes around Blackpool.
“Care workers are doing an amazing job during these challenging times and we wanted to acknowledge this. The gift is for them and also the residents of the care homes.

“Distribution was always going to a be a challenge so I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Jane Cole and the team at Blackpool Transport for kindly offering to help distribute the biscuits on our behalf.
“We’re already delivering thousands of items to Blackpool Victoria Hospital and other front line workers with our volunteer drivers. But the logistics for deliveries to care homes needs more co-ordination”
Jane Cole is Managing Director of Blackpool Transport Services. Jane says “We’re delighted to be able to help BLACKPOOL BID and Burtons Biscuits in distributing the gifts.
“Some of our employees have volunteered to help and it’s another example of local businesses working together to help the community in these challenging times”.

Delivering Treats to Blackpool Heroes
Do you have a substantial donation to make? If so, but you’re unable to drop off, a network of volunteer drivers will offer a pick up from you.
The team will, of course, respect everyone’s personal space. There is a safe and coordinated delivery plan to ensure the donations reach the essential workers.
