The Regent is screening Vertigo (1958), following a retired San Francisco detective with acrophobia who is hired to observe a friend’s mysterious wife, only to become dangerously obsessed with her. Alfred Hitchcock crafts a haunting mix of romance, mystery, and psychological tension, enhanced by innovative camerawork, Bernard Herrmann’s iconic score, and standout performances by James Stewart and Kim Novak. Widely hailed as one of cinema’s greatest achievements, it’s a must-watch for lovers of atmospheric, complex storytelling.
