Have you heard about the goings on at the President Hotel? I got the shock of my life when I saw the police had raided the place and found that Eastern European gangs had taken over. It looks like they had a good old cannabis farm going on in there.
I told my lot today and said that the President had been taken over. Jane, my little brain box, exclaimed ‘The President’, she thought I meant Donald Trump!! No I told her, the President Hotel on the Prom. The one that did a fly on the wall series many years ago, about the staff and the antics in there. I must say that we all enjoyed it as it was so funny. We passed it not long ago and I actually commented on how run down it was looking which was strange. It always seemed to be kept painted and well looked after.
The news report said the cannabis growers had taken the place over and machetes had been found outside!
That did make my eyebrows go up a few inches at the thought of gangs running riot with a machete. Presumably it was for threatening or killing other gangs who were after their haul, at least I like to think so. The thought of them running riot with a machete in public is just horrible! Looking at the size of some of the plants, I guess they’d been in there quite a while.
The mystery thickens, I must get my Miss Marple gear out and see what I can find out about the goings on in sunny Blackpool!
Have you heard about the Swans?
And have you heard about the poor swans which have been dying in Stanley Park. There are nine dead and three more are fighting for their lives after being found on Tuesday. Defra and other powers that be are working with the RSPCA to find out the cause of death in these beautiful creatures.
I just hope they haven’t been poisoned. I can’t imagine being so heartless to do such a thing to birds who haven’t done anything to harm anyone. Isn’t it illegal to do anything to a swan, as they belong to the Queen? So if and when they catch them, I hope they are sent to the Tower and have their heads chopped off. It’s what they deserve in my opinion.
I bet most of us have been to Stanley Park lake to feed the swans, ducks and birds that live on or nearby to the lake. The thought that someone could have deliberately poisoned these beautiful, graceful birds is too awful to contemplate.
As anyone who knows me will tell you, I can’t stand animal cruelty to anything. Birds, animals and all the other creatures that are round and about us. They’re lowlife to such a degree that it makes me wonder what can make anyone torment or kill defenceless creatures like people do.
But you know what they say, what goes round comes round and it’s always given you back to you twice-times, whether it be good or bad. So, I hope the same happens to anyone who is cruel to animals and they get what they deserve. Don’t you.
