California Guest House is situated at Hornby Road, not far from the sea front and everything that Blackpool has to offer.
This top-rated hotel has four steps from the street to the main front door and is spread over two floors. Our bed and breakfast has two ground floor rooms, with all remaining bedrooms being up one flight of stairs. All bedrooms have en-suite facilities consisting of a shower, toilet and sink. Public areas are located on the ground floor, so easily accessible by people with mobility issues.
The property was built in the late 1800’s and first used as a guest house in the 1920’s. Original features can still be seen in the entrance lobby of the property. The current owners fell in love with the place because of it’s central location, large lounge with a sunny aspect and open plan bar and dinning area.

Hornby Road is near to the town centre and the iconic Blackpool Tower and Ballroom, the Winter Gardens, and Houndshill Shopping Centre. A ten minute walk and you’re at the seafront and promenade. Head a little to the south is Madame Tussauds, the Sea Life Centre, Central Pier, Viva, the Grand Theatre and much more.
Blackpool Zoo is just a short bus journey away or two minutes in the car, with its own car-park. Stanley Park is a nice place to spend some time with the family. The Pleasure Beach and Sandcastle Waterpark are just a short tram journey away. The casino is within 5 minutes walk as well as some nice restaurants and bars. A number of golf courses are also within easy driving distance from this guest house.
And Blackpool North train station is a 7 minute walk.
With Blackpool Transport trams and buses, exploring the Fylde Coast is easy and comfortable. There’s also a handy App so you know exactly which bus to catch and when it will arrive. Buy your ticket from the driver or via the App.
