The first major female star of the 80’s, award winning singer-songwriter Hazel O’Connor presents BREAKING GLASS LIVE – preceded by a very special unplugged prelude performance of some of Hazel’s very own ‘Hallelujah Moments’ along the way.
Accompanied here by her stunning band The Subterraneans, Hazel is joined by virtuoso saxophonist Clare Hirst (The Belle Stars, Communards, David Bowie) on sax and vocals and the wonderful Sarah Fisher (Eurythmics) on keyboards and vocals. The powerful blend of voices and musicianship brings a classy touch of energy to Hazel’s vibrant performance.
Striding into the spotlight, with her lead role in Dodi Fayed’s cult movie Breaking Glass in 1980, Hazel immediately became an iconic figure as well as a BAFTA nominated actress. There were hits and eye-catching Top of The Pops appearances aplenty along the way. Hazel’s ageless songs from the iconic film include Eighth Day, Will You, Big Brother, Monsters in Disguise, Calls The Tune, If Only, Give Me An Inch, Blackman and Hanging Around – all of which seem even more relevant in our present times. With a special Meet & Greet immediately after the show you’re in for a treat. Unmissable, book early!
Early bird price of £20.00 for a limited time only.

What you’ll find at Blackpool North Pier
Promenade along an Original Heritage Pier
Blackpool North Pier is an amazing example of Victorian architecture. You can explore it’s history here, and find out what makes it unique. To ‘Promenade’ was originally to dress in your fine clothes and take a stroll in a popular place. Like the seafront – or a pier like this one.
There are traditional children’s rides at both ends of Blackpool North Pier where your little ones can enjoy the fun of the fair!
You’ll spot the Helter Skelter from the promenade. There’s also a beautiful original merry go round too, plus various other rides.

Cafes and Kiosks
From the entrance to the end of Blackpool North Pier you’ll find an interesting assortment of kiosks, plus plenty of places to eat and drink too.
There’s the British seaside favourite of fish and chips – and of course ice cream. In the ‘North Perk’ cafe you can choose from meals, sandwiches, cakes and drinks.
Various other kiosks sell gifts, sweets, records and clothes, and no self respecting pier would be complete without a resident fortune teller! Visit Gypsy Petulengro to see what the future holds for you!
Opening Times (from Easter)
- The amusement arcade is open daily from 10am.
- The Merrie England bar on North Pier is open daily until late.
- The deck, Carousel, Sun Lounge and Theatre are all open for the season.

See the Starlings at Blackpool North Pier
North Pier is one of a few places in the country where you can see this amazing sight.
Throughout the months of late autumn and winter, Blackpool North Pier is a roost to tens of thousands of starlings. Each night when they arrive at dusk they create a spectacular display known as a murmuration. They swoop and glide as one huge, black mass as they fly to the pier to bed down for the night.
