Trinity Hospice and Brian House

Trinity Hospice and Brian House provide specialist palliative care for adults and children with life threatening or life limiting illnesses. They care for people in Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre.

Trinity Hospice and Brian House Children’s Hospice

It’s far more than just a building. Trinity Hospice and Brian House offer a wide range of services across all of the Fylde Coast. They ensure that everyone has access to good end-of-life care, in the place they choose.

Trinity doctors and nurses work at the hospital, in the community and in patients’ homes. That includes work through the night and of course at the hospice on Low Moor Road in Bispham. Incredibly, the hospice touches the lives of 8,000 local people every year. It’s not an organisation that focuses on death. The hospice ensures that life is celebrated and lived well until the very end.

Demand for its special brand of care keeps on growing. So its services must continually evolve to meet changing expectations. The hospice operates 24 hours a day, every day of the year. It’s officially rated ‘Outstanding’ for the care it provides in its lovely, modern facilities.

But two thirds of Trinity patients never set foot in the actual hospice building. Trinity’s nursing teams work across the community, day and night, covering every corner of the Fylde Coast. For many people, their final and greatest wish is to spend their last months and weeks in their own home. Trinity helps to make that happen; giving families confidence to cope and taking pressure off local hospital services.

Hospice care is for the whole family. Trinity Hospice and Brian Houses also offer specialist counselling services. Along with Day Therapy and the Hospice Neighbours schemes they provide support, advice and therapies. Not just for patients but also for those closest to them. The hospice even links with 90 local schools to provide help to youngsters affected by grief and loss.

Trinity Hospice and Brian House

Brian House Children’s Hospice is Trinity’s specialist centre for local children with life-limiting conditions.

It’s a hub of happiness, providing respite care 24 hours a day for the most fragile children in our community. It makes the most of every day and creates happy memories for families who know that some lives can be much too short.

Trinity Hospice exists because of you…

Trinity is the only hospice for the Fylde Coast. It only exists thanks to the generosity of its supporters and the team of 800 volunteers. They take on roles as diverse as gardening, driving, event marshalling and reception duties.

Demand increases year on year for both adult and children’s services. Meaning there’s unrelenting pressure to fundraise to keep Trinity’s doors open. It costs millions each year to provide all of Trinity’s services. Only a third of the money it needs comes from the government. Despite that, no one is ever charged for its care.
