I wonder how you are all coping with the virus that has decided to rear its very ugly head. It’s business as usual here as though no one had heard of the virus that is sweeping the world and to stay home.
My family are getting quite annoyed at the way that the seafront is so packed, along with the beach and the prom. We can’t understand why people are flocking to seaside resorts all over the country en-masse. All I can think is they must know something we don’t.
Stay Home
There’s scarcely any attempt to distance people from each other here, especially on the prom which at places is narrow. Maybe they all enjoy a game of Russian roulette or something because that is what they are doing with our lives here.
Yes the government said it was OK to go out get some exercise and fresh air, but that didn’t mean everyone gather in certain places because they can’t go to the pubs or whatever. You would think it was a red hot day on a Bank Holiday, if that gives you some idea how busy it is.
Apparently the town itself has been heaving with visitors, especially on Saturday, which does annoy me. Cafes were still open, which they shouldn’t be. So people are serving, sitting near to each other at tables along with handling money and touching things non-stop.
When we locals go out it is by and large to go straight to the food shops that we need, not a stroll round in the sun going everywhere we want as though nothing is happening.
Putting Lives at Risk
They are putting their lives at risk and all of ours by thronging here. The café on the prom has been open and busy all weekend. Do they think they are exempt or something? How can they blatantly ignore what they have been told to do or what. This idea of allowing takeaways is daft, as cafes are letting people sit outside. The Venue has closed its doors as they were told to, and at a great loss to them, especially on Mothers Day. So how the Café can open is beyond me, and there are people inside.
It’s OK having the attitude that ‘we don’t care’ but we care. I am one of the vulnerable people, along with my hubby. We have multiple health problems as do a lot of people have are our age. The thought of all these people coming from all over the place and mixing doesn’t exactly fill me full of warmth to human kind.
No it makes me angry that we are staying in, keeping away from people while others seem to not care about themselves or others.
100mph in the outside lane
As my daughter said, you wouldn’t go down the outside lane of a motorway at 100mph as you know it’s illegal and puts you and others at risk of death. Well this is the same in our opinion. Just stay home is what we all think, and keep your germs there please.
If people don’t stop what they are doing and ignoring the medical advice, it’s going to spread quickly all over the country. Just as it has all over the world.
This little …*****… is nasty. It spreads like lightning and kills people,make no mistake. The government would hardly be closing shops, businesses and all the rest and paying people’s wages if there wasn’t a serious crisis looming. Or am I missing something?
We are constantly being told that this is the first time in history that a government has taken all these steps to almost lock the country down. Other countries are finding that it’s rampaging and have total lockdown.
Mad English
What they must think about our reckless citizens when they see us on the news I dread to think. Probably ‘mad English people’.
For goodness sake, believe that there is a real threat to life out there. Why take risks with all of us who are complying, yourself and your families. Mad I call it.
We are repeatedly being told it will last up to a year so how people who so far have thought they are immune from disease and have carried on enjoying life will go on, I don’t know. It’s sad when watching the news that these people don’t know how to enjoy a social life without mass meetings and pouring drink down their throats. It’s a mystery to me I must say.
Like all of us people all over the world who have once had to face death and could be facing it again through the actions of reckless people, my message is ‘stay away from our shores and stop being selfish’.
I feel sure that you think I have ranted enough, but it’s too late when we are all dead and (can’t) say ‘what if’!!!!
