Vacancy for the position of clerk to Fleetwood Town Council, closes 10th June 2019.

Fleetwood Town Council is looking to recruit a new Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer from 01/07/2019.

  • Shortlisting takes place on 14th June
  • Interviews will be on the evening of 20th June

Hours: Monday-Thursday 30 hours a week, plus attendance at evening meetings approximately 10 times a year.

Starting salary: NJC pay scale 15, £22,911 per annum (pro-rata). Negotiable depending on qualifications and experience.

Fleetwood Town Council is looking to recruit a new Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer from 01/07/2019.

The new clerk will be required to work primarily from the council offices at 122 Poulton Rd, Fleetwood. The Council meets approximately every 6 weeks on a Tuesday evening and the clerk needs to be present as legal and financial adviser and to take minutes.

The role is for 30 hours a week plus agreed expenses and attracts a salary on NJC pay scales for part-time clerks, dependant on existing experience and qualifications starting at SCP point 15, £22,911 per annum (pro-rata), with annual increments based on satisfactory performance.

The starting salary is negotiable depending upon qualifications and experience.

The role also attracts membership of an occupational pension scheme through NEST.

Annual leave is 21 days (pro-rata) plus bank holidays.

Person specification for the Clerk to Fleetwood Town Council

The Council is looking for someone with good IT, organisation, administration and communication skills who can meet the job description and person specification.

If not already qualified, the successful candidate will be expected to undertake a course of study, funded by the council, to obtain the Certificate in Local Council Administration (CiLCA) within 18 months of starting the role.
