Easterleigh Animal Sanctuary APPEAL

Easterleigh Animal Sanctuary APPEAL

Urgent Appeal from Easterleigh

Easterleigh Animal Sanctuary and the animals are soon to be evicted from their current premises on Queensway in St Annes and they face potential closure.

A property has been found which will enable the Easterleigh to continue as a sanctuary and a charity.

A mortgage has been raised and Mandy Leigh, the founder, is selling her home as part of the appeal but this still leaves a shortfall of £120,600.

They are now in urgent, desperate need to raise this money and are seeking your help from donations. Every little bit helps.

More about Easterleigh…

At Easterleigh Animal Sanctuary our aim is to rescue and re-home unwanted, neglected and stray animals.

We take in any kind of animal that is in need, from hamsters to horses. At present we are caring for over a hundred animals and there are many more waiting to come to us, because as usual Easterleigh is full to capacity.

We have dogs in kennels waiting to come in which adds to our costs as, although the kennel owner gives us a discounted rate, we still have to pay for their stay there.

We also recently took in an emergency case of 12 cats due to the owner being hospitalised due to ill health which means our cattery is now full to bursting.

Add to that the animals still being abandoned at the Sanctuary – we have had two rabbits, a ferret and three cockerels dumped over the past few months – and you will understand how important our fundraising events are to help raise the £5,500 needed weekly to run the Sanctuary.

As well as supporting the fundraising events, there are also other ways to help – make a regular direct debit payment of £2.00 per month or provide bric-a-brac, good quality clothes, books, DVD’s etc to sell in our three charity shops.

Volunteer your time (you must be 18 years and over), animal food is always welcome – tinned dog and cat food, rabbit and guinea pig food, country mix and senior mix for our horses and ponies (contact Stanah Horse Feeds on 01253 823231 who will be able to deliver these along with our weekly supplies).

Fruit and Veg for our three pigs is also always gratefully received – especially by Honey our micro-pig and Honey 2 and Cutie our pot-bellied pigs!!

We also need sheets, towels and blankets for bedding as well as old newspapers (not shredded).

On behalf of Mandy Leigh and all the animals at Easterleigh, thank you for your support.

Come and visit our charity shops in and around Blackpool
