Wyre and Fylde Community Network

Supporting the network of community and charitable groups in Fylde and Wyre

The Wyre and Fylde Community Network was set up in October 2015 for the public benefit, developing and maintaining a network of community and charitable groups and organisations, which are delivering services and support to the public in Wyre and Fylde, by providing a representative voice, co-ordinated promotional events, partnership and networking opportunities.

Since setting up we have held our first Community Awareness Event in St Annes, which was a great success and a fantastic opportunity to highlight the amazing work and services that some of our member groups provide. We are hoping to be able to hold this type of event every 3 months with a different theme covered at each event.

We will be holding our Members’ Welcome Event on Friday 19th February to bring our members together and start to develop our membership profile and a Community Showcase event planned at AKS School in Lytham in April, which will raise awareness about the voluntary, charity and not for profit work that goes on in the local community and the support that is available, with lots more exciting events in the pipeline for the future.

We now have over 140 members groups who are actively sharing information and helping each other with ‘Calls for Information’ and we keep all our members up to date with a weekly newsletter.

We share Members News and updates on our website and Facebook page, where we also share items which we hope will be of interest to our Members.

We have a list of groups which would be happy to provide speakers to talk to local groups and at events, which is something we have been asked for by our members and is proving to be a great asset.

There is no charge to join the Wyre and Fylde Community Network and we have three different categories of membership to suit your circumstances.

We are working closely with Blackpool, Wyre and Fylde CVS (Council for Voluntary Services) to ensure the local communities have a voice and are able to be involved with consultations and service design.
