DESCRIPTION:\nGo behind the scenes of Heritage Trams with the Tramtown – Guided Workshop Tours and explore the Heritage Fitting Shop. See the equipment that engineers use to keep the wheels moving on the famous heritage trams.\n\n\n\nEaster weekend then Mondays and Saturdays each week April onwards during 2025, between 10am and 2pm\n\n\n\nTramtown – Guided Workshop Tours\n\n\n\nOver the last few months volunteers have been working hard to bring back the depot tours for 2025. Enjoy a unique experience of behind the scenes at Rigby Road.\n\n\n\nYour tour guide will take you through the Heritage Fitting Shop so you can see all the equipment that engineers used to keep the wheels moving on the famous heritage trams.\n\n\n\nNew to 2025, visitors will be able to walk round the Engineering works as part of an exhibition hall experience. Visitors will be able to see a number of Heritage Trams, as well as the machinery that looks after them as well as a history of Blackpool Tram system and it’s future. All money raised goes into the restoration fund of the Tram shed and engineering works. The souvenir shop will be open for Tramtown visitors.\n\n\n\nPlease note at this time the tour is restricted to the engineering workshop and does not include access to the main tram shed which is currently closed. However trams can be viewed from outside the safety barriers along the depot front.\n\n\n\nThe whole experience will last around 60 minutes.\n\n\n\nLimited availability for each tour – please book ahead at this link\n\n\n\nStarting location for the tour is the main tram gates on Hopton Road/Blundell Street (use postcode: FY1 6EA)\n\n\n\nMuch more about the new Tramtown Museum here\n\n\n\nThis event is not organised by Visit Fylde Coast but please mention you saw it here.
