DESCRIPTION:\nTo celebrate the launch of BFI Replay across Blackpool libraries, head to Blackpool Central Library for Step inside the Archive: BFI Replay & the North West Film Archive. It’s a unique, free event exploring the archives and collaborative work of the British Film Institute and the North West Film Archive.  \n\n\n\nFriday 1st May from 1-2pm\n\n\n\nStep inside the Archive: BFI Replay & the North West Film Archive\n\n\n\nYou’ll hear archival insights from the BFI and NWFA, and watch regional highlights from BFI Replay, before finishing with aspecial screening of the short film Blackpool. Made by Norman Ellis from the Bradford Cine club in 1946, ‘Blackpool’ records in beautiful colour the Ellis family on their summer holiday to the resort in the sunny days first post war summer. The family enjoy the beaches, the bathing pools, and the pleasure beach before heading off on days out to nearby Fleetwood and to Stanley Park. \n\n\n\nBFI Replay is a free-to-access, digital archive uncovering stories from across the UK, its history and its people. \n\n\n\nPlease be advised that filming and/or photography will be taking place during this event. \n\n\n\nThis event is supported by the BFI Screen Heritage Fund, awarding National Lottery funding.  \n\n\n\nReserve your free ticket here\n\n\n\nThis event is not organised by Visit Fylde Coast but please mention you saw it here.
